Hello,
thank you very much for your fast answer.
The Fiat 1600 connection rods have the same measurements, except the Pin end width and the Big end width. The fiat rods are 25,4 mm.
Does the Lada rods have a press fit at the piston pin?
Best regards
Leo
Hi Leo,
Too bad they don't share the same width, you may cut them smaller (they have a collar that could be cut 27,0-25,4/2 = 0,8 mm on both sides).
The light weight connecting rods
does not have press fit at the piston pin.
I guess the old Fiat engines also used press fit.
You could have the pistons altered, by cutting a slot for a clip to hold the piston pin in place (as all pistons does today) (I also have piston pins in 2 lengths - and clips !)
The old original connecting rods for the 1200-1600 ccm engines
do have press fit at the piston pin.
There are a large range of LADA-pistons that fits on our light weight connecting rods, most of them are Ø82,0 mm ±1,0 mm (they are of a new design, also much more light weight compared to the old year 1970-1980 pistons). (They are not in our web-shop !)
For experiments like this (to make something fit in a Fiat), I can give you a discount of 20% on all parts, on the condition that you make a good documentation HERE (in the LADA World Support Community).
When the documentation is done you receive the discount.
